Stephen Hawking once told Peter Scott-Morgan that the key to living with motor neurone disease, possibly the highest scorer in the Top Trumps of fiendishly cruel illnesses, was to focus on what you can do and not on what you can’t.


In Peter: The Human Cyborg we saw that Scott-Morgan, a robotics expert, has sucked the marrow out of that advice and used his devout faith in science to stick a middle finger up to his MND. He has used his intellect to stay one step ahead of it in a medical game of whack-a-mole by turning himself into part man, part machine.
